Hon. Kwame Amponsa Advises BECE Graduates to Shun Weed Smoking, Lesbianism, Occultism, and Gayism as They Begin SHS Life

The Presiding Member of the Amansie South District Assembly and Assembly Member for the Manso Datano Electoral Area, Hon. Samuel Kwame Amponsa, affectionately known as Home Boy, has advised newly admitted Senior High School students to remain disciplined and avoid all forms of immoral and destructive lifestyles that could derail their future ambitions.

Speaking at a colourful presentation ceremony where he donated educational materials to students who had successfully completed the Basic Education Certificate Examination and gained admission into various Senior High Schools, Hon. Amponsa urged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously and make wise decisions as they begin a new chapter in life. He cautioned them against engaging in acts such as weed smoking, lesbianism, gayism, and occultism, describing them as social vices that have destroyed the lives of many promising young people. He reminded the students that Senior High School marks the beginning of a critical stage in their journey to adulthood, stressing that the decisions they make at this stage could either build or break their dreams. He therefore encouraged them to stay away from bad company, remain focused on their books, and pursue their studies with diligence and integrity.

Hon. Amponsa emphasized that discipline, hard work, and good character are the true foundations of success, urging the students to cultivate these values as they work toward their goals. He further noted that education remains the most powerful legacy one can ever acquire, adding that it is the only asset that cannot be taken away by anyone. He appealed to the students to study hard and make their parents, teachers, and community proud, expressing hope that they would one day return to contribute to the development of Amansie South.

The donation exercise formed part of Hon. Amponsa’s personal educational support initiative aimed at promoting quality education and easing the financial burden on parents. As part of the initiative, he distributed over 300 educational materials, including chop boxes, trunks, and student mattresses, to 100 BECE graduates from different communities across the Amansie South District who are progressing to Senior High School.

Hon. Amponsa explained that his commitment to supporting education is driven by his firm belief that knowledge and skills development remain the most effective means of transforming the Amansie South District from poverty to progress. He expressed optimism that with well-educated youth, the district could one day produce professionals such as doctors, engineers, nurses, teachers, ministers, and CEOs who would return to contribute to its development.

He also urged the students to respect their parents and teachers, stay humble, and uphold good moral values as they begin their academic journey. According to him, the sacrifices made by parents to support their children’s education must not go in vain, and the best way to repay them is by staying focused and excelling academically.

Parents and students who benefited from the gesture expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Amponsa for his timely intervention, describing him as a true leader who genuinely cares about the welfare and future of the youth in Amansie South. One parent expressed joy, noting that the donation had eased the financial pressure on many families and commended Hon. Amponsa for his kindness and dedication to the educational progress of the district.

Hon. Amponsa’s consistent support for education continues to cement his reputation as a visionary leader committed to shaping a brighter future for the youth of Amansie South, one student at a time.
