Ahafo Ano South West DCE Abubakar Sedik Commends Assembly Members for Supporting District’s Development Drive

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has lauded the dedication and cooperation of Assembly Members, technocrats, and stakeholders in advancing the developmental agenda of the district. He gave the commendation during the second General Assembly meeting held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the District Assembly Hall in Mankranso.

The meeting, which forms part of the Assembly’s statutory obligations under the Local Governance Act, brought together Assembly Members, Heads of Departments, and key development partners to deliberate on the district’s performance and approve essential documents for the 2026 fiscal year.

During the session, members thoroughly reviewed and approved the 2026 Composite Budget, the District Development Plan, and the Executive Committee Report. These documents outline the Assembly’s financial priorities, key projects, and strategic focus areas for the coming year, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing the quality of life of residents.

In his address, Hon. Abubakar Sedik expressed deep appreciation to the Assembly Members for their tireless contributions, sense of duty, and cooperative spirit, which have significantly shaped the district’s developmental progress over the years. He acknowledged their instrumental roles in ensuring that the Assembly’s policies and programmes are implemented efficiently across all electoral areas.

“I am extremely grateful to all Assembly Members and Heads of Departments for the unity and commitment you continue to demonstrate. The success of our district is a product of teamwork, mutual respect, and shared purpose. Together, we are building a stronger and more progressive Ahafo Ano South West,” Hon. Sedik stated.

He reiterated that the approved 2026 Composite Budget focuses on key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and local economic development. According to him, these sectors have been carefully prioritized to drive inclusive growth, reduce poverty, and ensure equitable access to essential services.

 

Hon. Sedik also reaffirmed the Assembly’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and community participation, noting that effective governance depends on open dialogue and collaboration among all stakeholders. He urged Assembly Members to continue engaging their constituents actively, fostering public confidence in local governance processes.

 

Heads of Departments present at the meeting gave detailed presentations on ongoing and completed projects under the 2025 Development Plan. They highlighted significant progress in areas including school infrastructure expansion, road maintenance, healthcare delivery improvements, and the promotion of local enterprises. Members of the Assembly took turns to raise concerns, offer insights, and make recommendations to improve the efficiency of service delivery in the coming year.

 

The Presiding Member, who chaired the meeting, praised both the executive and administrative arms of the Assembly for their professionalism and cooperation. He stressed the importance of maintaining this collaborative spirit to ensure that the Assembly’s vision for sustainable development is achieved

He further encouraged Assembly Members to intensify community sensitization and public engagement to ensure residents understand the objectives of the 2026 Development Plan and contribute effectively to its successful implementation.
