Manso Adubia SHS Students Appeal for Dormitory, Dining Hall, and Assembly Hall During SRC Week Celebration

Students and staff of Manso Adubia Senior High School in the Amansie South District have made an earnest appeal to the government, philanthropists, and educational stakeholders to urgently address the school’s critical infrastructure deficits.

The appeal was made during the school’s annual Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Week celebration, a period traditionally marked with fun and reflection. This year’s edition, however, took on a more serious focus as students used the platform to highlight key developmental needs of the institution.

The most pressing concerns included the inadequate dormitory space for both male and female students, which has resulted in overcrowding and affected the school’s boarding capacity—particularly for students from distant communities. The absence of a proper dining hall and assembly hall was also cited as major drawbacks affecting the academic and social wellbeing of students.

Mr. Opoku Mensah, the SRC Patron, spoke passionately about the situation in an interview. “Our students are doing their best under very difficult conditions. The lack of adequate dormitories is limiting our enrollment, especially for students who would otherwise board. The road network to the school is also poor, making accessibility a serious challenge,” he explained.

He added that the school, in collaboration with the SRC, has plans to initiate development projects in the wake of the celebrations. However, he acknowledged that such efforts would require external support to succeed.

“We need help from government, philanthropists, and NGOs. We want to see Manso Adubia SHS grow into a model institution, but we need the infrastructure to support that vision,” Mr. Mensah emphasized.

Despite the challenges, the SRC Week celebration concluded on a hopeful note. Students and staff expressed optimism that their concerns would be heard and addressed, paving the way for a more conducive learning environment.

The Manso Adubia SHS community remains united in its commitment to improving educational outcomes and ensuring that no student is disadvantaged due to infrastructure limitations.
