NDC Polls: Mahama camp assures other contestants of a good contest

The camp of Former President John Dramani Mahama has assured the other contestants who have picked nominations to enable them to take part in the flagbearer elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of a clean contest.

The largest opposition party opened nominations on Wednesday, February 22 ahead of the May 13 primaries.

So far, three-time presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama, one Ernest Kwaku Kobeah, and for Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) boss Kojo Bonsu have picked forms.

Addressing the media after picking Mr Mahama’s forms, Professor Alabi said “we assure you of a good contest, very interesting, very lively, we are not going to throw stones to anybody.

“I am assuring other contestants that everything is going to be smooth, we love all of them, and at the end of it we are going to invite all of them for victory.”

He further said Ghanaians will see signs of economic growth within the first two years of Mr Mahama’s administration should he win the 2024 general elections.

He said “Under the leadership of John Mahama within a matter of two years, you will see signs of growth, we will first stabilize economic growth [and] at the end of it the NPP will never see power again.”

He added “We are here to pick up the forms for his HE John Dramani Mahama. As you are aware we are in very difficult times in this country, the economy is in shambles, people are suffering and the summary here is that people are crying for the NDC to come back.

“The NDC has gone through all its structures, and elections, it is time to come for the flagbearer to deliver the 2024 elections,” he said.

He further indicated that “Ghanaians are asking for a well-experienced leader, leadership counts. If leadership counts then experience is the key, one who has done it before and one who is very humble, one who loves the people and one who believes in people-centered policies. Fortunately for us in the NDC, as a country, we have somebody like that.

We are here to pick his form and to work for him and work for the NDC and work for the people of Ghana.

“January 2025 NDC will be forming the new government under the leadership of HE John Dramani Mahama,” the former contestant for the flagbearer post said.
