The former NPP member contended that for corruption to be nipped in the bud, intense efforts must be directed towards asset declaration by state officers as well as ‘unexplained wealth’.
“Where are they getting the money from all these people who are running around who have never worked a day in their life. You become a politician and overnight they are zillionaires.
“We live with them, we know each other. We know ourselves, its not as if we dropped from mars,” he said on The Keypoints, June 22.
When asked if his stance is because he is not benefitting from the looting of state funds, Mr. Asamoa replied: “I can vouch for my record. I have been there. Haven’t I been in it since ever? I was literally a founding member of the NPP.”
He bemoaned the phenomenon of loot and share by government officials and underscored the need for stringent measures.
Buaben Asamoa is confident that Alan Kyerematen’s Transformation Movement can eradicate this act when given the chance in the 2024 elections
