Hon. Yaw Anim Hands Over Fully Renovated AME Zion School Block, Vows to Protect School Lands

The Member of Parliament for Kumawu, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has strengthened his commitment to transforming education in the constituency with the commissioning and official handing over of a fully renovated six-unit classroom block for the Nkwanta AME Zion Primary School.

The renovated facility, which received a comprehensive facelift including new roofing, improved ventilation, refurbished classrooms, and enhanced learning spaces, was completed through the MP’s deliberate efforts to upgrade educational infrastructure across Sekyere Kumawu. The colourful ceremony attracted traditional leaders, teachers, parents, and community members who praised the MP for his continuous dedication to improving learning conditions.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Yaw Anim reiterated that education remains a central pillar of his development agenda. He stressed that every child in the constituency deserves a conducive learning environment capable of shaping their future.

He further used the occasion to call on all natives of Sekyere Kumawu, both home and abroad, to join hands in supporting development initiatives, particularly in the education sector. According to him, collective responsibility is crucial in accelerating progress and improving the quality of life in the communities.

A key concern he highlighted was the rising issue of school land encroachment within the district. Hon. Yaw Anim issued a strong warning to individuals attempting to illegally claim school lands, describing the practice as a major obstacle to future expansion of educational facilities.

“As your MP, I will use my office to fight any encroachment on our school lands. We will protect all public school properties from individuals who attempt to take advantage. The future of our children must be safeguarded,” he declared.

Hon. Yaw Anim also urged school authorities, teachers, and residents to cultivate a strong maintenance culture to preserve the newly renovated facility. He emphasized that the long-term benefits of such investments depend on regular upkeep and responsible community involvement.

The Headteacher of Nkwanta AME Zion Primary School, Mr. Kwabena Agyei, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the MP for the timely intervention. He noted that the renovation will significantly improve teaching and learning outcomes, as the previous state of the classrooms had been a major challenge.

Mr. Agyei, however, appealed for additional support to help address outstanding needs of the school. These include the establishment of a computer laboratory, provision of sports equipment, construction of teachers’ quarters, a fence wall, and the appointment of a watchman to enhance security on the school compound.

Traditional leaders of Nkwanta also graced the event, commending the MP for his sustained efforts in promoting development and supporting education in the area. They prayed for God’s blessings, long life, and good health for Hon. Yaw Anim, expressing confidence in his leadership and desire to see him continue serving the constituency.

The commissioning of the renovated school block marks another milestone in Hon. Yaw Anim’s broader agenda to uplift educational infrastructure and create better opportunities for children across Kumawu.
