Stakeholders Urged to Support Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ Library Project at Colourful Prize Giving Ceremony

The Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ School in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality has held a memorable and well-organized Speech and Prize Giving Day, using the occasion to rally broad community support for an ambitious school library project aimed at improving teaching and learning. The event, which attracted education officials, traditional leaders, parents, old students, clergy, and community members, celebrated academic excellence and highlighted the shared responsibility of nurturing the next generation.

This year’s ceremony was held under the theme “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow – Empowering Children Through Collective Support,” reinforcing the school’s commitment to building disciplined, enlightened, and future-ready young leaders. The theme also underscored the need for strong stakeholder collaboration in addressing educational challenges and expanding access to adequate learning resources.

Speaking at the event, Headmaster Mr. Owusu Richard made a heartfelt appeal to parents, dignitaries, former students, benevolent individuals, organizations, and the broader Toase community to join hands with the school as it embarks on constructing a modern, well-resourced library. He stressed that reading remains the foundation of academic excellence, and a library is a vital tool in shaping confident learners who can compete globally.

Mr. Owusu noted that although the school continues to record notable achievements, it still struggles with limited infrastructural support. He emphasized that the envisioned library will serve as a knowledge hub, fostering literacy, research abilities, digital learning, and a culture of lifelong reading among pupils. “This project is a legacy we must all contribute to. It will transform the lives of our children and strengthen the academic future of our community,” he added.

Representing the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Director of Education, the School Improvement Support Officer (SISO) commended the school for its foresight, dedication, and consistency in organizing educational development programmes such as the Prize Giving Day. He praised the teachers for their sacrifice and commitment to academic excellence and encouraged schools within the municipality to adopt similar initiatives to boost educational performance.

He also pledged the Education Directorate’s support toward improving teaching and learning in the area and lauded the school’s leadership for starting a project that aligns with national goals of enhancing reading and learning culture in basic schools.

The event also received strong endorsement from the traditional authority. Representing Toase Hene, Nana Ababio Yim Awere, Mr. Solomon Yeboah applauded the school’s management for their vision and expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making the ceremony successful. He reaffirmed the chief’s unwavering commitment to supporting educational development in Toase and encouraged residents to play active roles in shaping the future of the younger generation.

The lively ceremony featured captivating student performances such as poetry recitals, traditional cultural displays, choreography, drama, and songs that thrilled the audience and showcased the creative talents of pupils. A major highlight was the presentation of awards to deserving pupils who distinguished themselves in academic work, good behaviour, sports, leadership roles, and overall discipline. Teachers and supporting staff were also acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to the school’s progress.

Parents who participated expressed joy and admiration for the school’s efforts, stating that such events motivate children to work harder. Many pledged personal and financial support for the library initiative, describing it as timely and crucial for advancing quality education at the basic level.

The 2025 Speech and Prize Giving Day at Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ has therefore been widely celebrated as a resounding success—one that not only honoured excellence but more importantly mobilized community commitment toward the library project, which promises to uplift learning standards for years to come.

School authorities remain optimistic that with sustained collaboration among all stakeholders, Toase St Peter’s R/C Primary ‘B’ will continue to produce confident, well-prepared future leaders who will make meaningful contributions to national development.
