A 32-year-old man at Nkawie Panin in the Ashanti Region is battling for his life after he was butchered over a bunch of plantains.
According to a police report, the victim, Ali Dawuda was in his house around 6:30 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023, when the suspect, angrily came in to accuse him of stealing his plantain.
Before Dawuda could even utter a word, the suspect, only identified as Boakye pulled a cutlass and butchered him.
After committing the crime, the suspect, reportedly, fled the crime scene and left the injured Dawuda to his fate.
Screams from the victim caught the attention of some residents who trooped to the house to find him in a pool of blood.
They rushed him to the Nkawie/Toase Government Hospital for treatment.
He was later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
However, the suspect is still on the run.
The incident was reported to the police, who quickly sent their men to the crime scene.
Meanwhile, they have since commenced investigations into the issue and launched a manhunt for the suspect.
