Ibrahim Mahama Supports 13-Year-Old KNUST Prodigy with Mentorship and Full Educational Sponsorship

Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist, Ibrahim Mahama, has extended a generous helping hand to 13-year-old Melchizedek Adio Baafawiise, who recently made headlines as the youngest student admitted to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2025.

During a special meeting on Monday, February 3, 2025, Mahama not only pledged full financial support for Melchizedek’s education but also offered him a mentorship opportunity, ensuring his academic journey is well-guided.

As part of the experience, the young scholar was given an exclusive tour of the Dzata Private Jet, flying from Accra to Kumasi, where he had a first-hand look at the aircraft’s operations. This once-in-a-lifetime experience was designed to inspire and broaden his perspective on aviation, innovation, and excellence.

Beyond the unique jet experience, Mahama committed to covering all tuition, accommodation, and academic expenses for Melchizedek throughout his university education. He also assured the prodigy and his family of continuous support, encouraging him to pursue his studies with determination and excellence.

“Melchizedek is an exceptional young mind, and we must do everything possible to nurture his talent. He represents the future of Ghana, and I am honored to support his journey,” Mahama stated.

The young scholar, accompanied by his family, expressed immense gratitude for the life-changing opportunity, promising to make the most of it.

This gesture by Ibrahim Mahama underscores his commitment to empowering young Ghanaians, particularly those who demonstrate exceptional academic abilities. His support for Melchizedek is expected to serve as an inspiration to other brilliant young students across the country.
