BRAC Ghana Opens Fifth Ashanti Branch at Bantama to Boost Access to Financial Services

In a major step towards improving financial access in the Ashanti Region, BRAC Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd has launched a new service point at Bantama, becoming the fifth branch in the region under its expanding portfolio.

The launch forms part of BRAC Ghana’s broader goal of deepening financial inclusion, particularly among women and underserved populations in rural and peri-urban areas. The institution, which is part of a global network serving over 10 million clients, continues to strengthen its presence in Ghana through a customer-focused approach and community engagement.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Mr. Kojo Baffoe Eghan, CEO of the Bantama Service Point of BRAC Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd, reiterated the company’s commitment to making banking services more accessible. “Our mission is to support communities with professional and affordable financial services while promoting financial literacy and digital skills. We are not only here to offer loans or savings accounts but also to educate our clients and support their economic growth,” he noted.

The Bantama branch will offer a range of services, including savings and loan products tailored to the needs of small business owners, traders, and individuals. With the introduction of BRAC’s mobile banking platform accessible via the *275# USSD code, customers can conveniently manage their finances anytime, anywhere.

As part of the event, the representative of the Bantema Chief, Nana Owusu Appau III, who is also the Bantama Gyasehene and an adviser to BRAC Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd, encouraged clients to make good use of the institution’s services. “Let us take this opportunity to grow our businesses and improve our lives. I urge all loan beneficiaries to repay on time and use the funds wisely for productive purposes,” he advised.

The launch was well-attended by community members, opinion leaders, business operators, and staff of BRAC Ghana, who expressed excitement about the development and the opportunities it presents for economic growth in Bantama and surrounding areas.

With its proven track record and client-focused model, BRAC Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd continues to lead efforts in bridging the gap between rural communities and formal financial services.
