The General overseer of the Fellowship of Good News Bible Church Reverend Dr Abukari Yakubu has cautioned Ghanaian men of God to measured in their prophetic utterances ahead of 7th December general elections.
He urged religious leaders to ensure their Prophecies do not injured the right of others and the public interest.
According to him, fake Prophecies are not promoting the kingdom of God but rather than bring chaos and destabilise the country.
Reverend Dr Abukari Yakubu was speaking to media when Fellowship of Good News Bible Church held it’s annual pastor’s and Leaders conference in Asokore mampong municipality of the Ashanti region under the theme” Building a healthy church in the midst of a crooked generation (Philipians 2:14-15 & Acts 2:40-42)
Reverend Dr Abukari Yakubu also cautioned clergy not to engage in partisan politics.
He called them to remain resolute in propagating the gospel and serve the purpose of God rather than engaging in utterances that undermine and distort the peace and stability of the nation.
Reverend Abukari Yakubu said in recent times, the Church has over-concentrated on worldly materials that has led to a decline in soul winning.
Touching on the Police directive against misleading prophecies, Rev Dr. Yakubu said there would have been no need for such an action if all Ministers of the Gospel acted in accordance with the teachings of God.
He also called on men of God not to commercialize the gospel and let the knowledge of God discern from their heart.
He said the three days conference seeks to equip the Pastors with the requisite knowledge in their Ministries.
“When you are in the Ministry, things change overtime and you need to know the root cause of issues affecting humanity, especially those in remote places. So when the ministers gather, we seek solutions on how to navigate through the crises and also revamp the Ministers in the discharge of their duties”, Reverend Dr Abukari Yakubu stated.
“As a Prophet, there’s no need to be affiliated to a particular political party. Such acts are not the ways of God. Prophets must act in accordance with the scripture and there is no passage in the Bible that says prophets be affiliated to a political party”,
An induction ceremony was conducted for the New Executives of the Church as well as the launch of a book meant to guide the Ministers of the Gospel.
He charged the new executives to discharge their duties with utmost diligence and God fearing.
On his part, the Host pastor of the three (3) days conference Reverend Daniel Ofosu Adjei who also double as the senior minister of Good Bible Church at Ayigya used the medium to call on his fellow ministers of God to propagate the gospel to win souls into the kingdom of God.
He expressed the view that many pastors are now in the country looking for easy ways to amass wealth instead of preaching God’s word to the listening public, hence the need for the citizenry to be careful not to fall victim to such false prophets.
