The MP for New Juaben South constituency in the Eastern region, hon Michael Okyere Baafi has reiterate his government’s commitment to under take major developmental projects in Zongo communities in Koforidua.
The projects which is geared towards infrastructure will minimize poverty and improve standard of living of people living in Zongo communities, he said.
The Deputy Minister for Trade and Industries addressing the gathering at Koforidua Zongo on Sunday, 30th January, 2022, during the celebration of Damba festival, he says, there are so many flagship programs and opportunities the Zongo youth can take advantage of to better their livelihood.
Mr. Okyere Baafi told Afeema FM’s journalist, Kaakyire Kwasi Afari that, Zongo communities only witness development only when the New Patriotic Party is ruling the country.
Adding that, president Nana Addo’s administration has outperformed the previous government when it comes to infrastructure development in Zongo communities.
As part of his plans to develop the Zongo’s, the MP promised to construction an altra-mordern Astro Turf to Shape football talents of the youth.
He again hinted to construct a community clinic for the people to help them access quality health care.
The New Juaben South MP in his address pledged to offer free air time on his newly established Afeema FM radio station to the Muslims to propagate the teachings of Islam.
He realized that, his radio station is ready to craft internally policy to provide platform to abreast Muslims with the Islamic teachings.
Okyere Baafi used the opportunity to call on Muslim community in the Koforidua Zongo to pray for wisdom for him and president Nana Akufo Addo so they can govern and get Ghana out of its economic challenges.
Oh his part, Mallam Musa who graced the occasion called on government to address the high unemployment rate in the Zongo communities.
According to him, the current levels of unemployment in Zongo are worrying and must be dealt with swiftly.
He said, the implementation of policies that will provide job opportunities for all will help reduce social vices and vigilantism in Zongo areas.
