POLICE INVESTIGATE KIDNAPPING INCIDENT AT KYEREMASU

.The Bono Regional Police Command has announced the commencement of investigations into the kidnapping of Millicent Fosua, aged 30, at Kyeremasu in the Dormaa East municipality Bono Region.

According to police statement issued today by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah the regional PRO, the complainant, Samuel Amartey Laryea, a businessman, reported that he travelled with the wife to Kyeremasu to attend a funeral on 29th October 2025.

According to the complainant, on 3rd November, he received a phone call from an unknown person indicating that his wife had been kidnapped, that the caller demanded GHC12,000 before she was released.

He said that due to fear of danger on the wife, he sent GHC 2000, but they failed to release her. He then reported the case to the police.

Upon receiving the information, an intelligence-led undercover operation was conducted by a team from the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate (PID).

The victim was rescued in Berekum and was found in good health. She has since been handed over to her family.

The victim said on 03/11/2025 at about 5:30am, she left home to visit her husband, who was accommodated in a house distance from where she lived.

She saw a black Toyota corolla parked by the roadside face Akontanim road. One of the suspects covered her mouth with a rag and dragged her into the car, later blindfolded her.

A few minutes later, she found herself in a bush after his face was uncovered. She was subjected to physical abuse, verbal threats of death, insults, seizure of mobile phone, and further took off her dress.

Police statement says they forced her to mention her husband phone number and her mobile money PIN to them.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to identify and apprehend them to assist in investigation.
