Oguahyia Oduro Panin Birikorang I has announced the removal of Nana Amoako Tuffour from his role as Abadwumhene. This decision was communicated at the New Edubiase palace on August 13, 2014, following a meeting of the Edubiaman traditional council.
The removal stems from allegations of severe misconduct against Nana Tuffour, who was accused of showing gross disrespect to his subchiefs and neglecting traditional celebrations like Awukudae and Akwasidae. Queen Mother Nana Akyaw Konadu Yiadom and Opanin Kwaku Asare provided testimony to these issues.
Queen Mother Nana Akua Dwum II expressed her shock at the chief’s behavior, declaring him unfit to continue leading. Oguahyia Oduro Birikorang I confirmed that Nana Tuffour had been invited to respond to the charges multiple times but had failed to do so, leading to his destoolment.
