Manso Tontokrom Unit Committee Breaks Ground for Ultra-Modern 18-Unit Classroom Block for Savior D/A Basic School

In a bold step toward enhancing education infrastructure in the Amansie South District, the Manso Tontokrom Unit Committee has broken ground for the construction of an ultra-modern 18-unit storey classroom block for Savior D/A Basic School.

The ground-breaking ceremony, held on Wednesday at the school premises in Manso Tontokrom, marks a significant milestone in the community’s collective efforts to support quality basic education. The state-of-the-art facility, which will include fully air-conditioned classrooms, is expected to greatly improve the teaching and learning environment for both pupils and teachers.

Speaking to Media in an interview at the short colourful ceremony held at the project site,the Chairman of the Manso Tontokrom Unit Committee, Mr. Kwabena Animonyam, popularly known as  ( Komfour Kwadae )expressed his deep commitment to the development of education in the area. He stated that the Unit Committee took the initiative in response to the growing population of the school and the urgent need for a more conducive academic environment.

 

“Education remains a cornerstone for the development of any community. This project is our way of complementing the government’s efforts to improve educational infrastructure. We are hopeful that this building will serve generations of learners,” Mr. Animonyam emphasized.

He further appealed to the students and school authorities to take proper care of the facility upon completion, urging them to make the most of the improved environment to excel in their academic pursuits.

Also present at the event was Pastor John Kwaku Tonto, Circuit Pastor of The Savior Church Ghana, Amansie South, who commended the Unit Committee for its visionary leadership and commitment to education.

“The role of the church and community in nation-building cannot be overlooked. What we have witnessed here today is a shining example of partnership for development. This project will undoubtedly improve learning outcomes and attract more pupils to the school,” Pastor Tonto noted.

The project is expected to be completed in phases, and when fully operational, will significantly decongest existing classrooms and provide modern facilities that meet the growing needs of the community.

The Manso Tontokrom Unit Committee has pledged to mobilize all necessary resources and support to ensure the timely completion of the project.

The initiative has since sparked hope among residents, who have lauded the committee’s foresight and commitment to the educational wellbeing of the community’s future leaders. Community leaders also called on other stakeholders, including the District Assembly, NGOs, and private individuals, to support the initiative.

Savior D/A Basic School, which has served the educational needs of children in Manso Tontokrom and surrounding communities for decades, has long faced infrastructure challenges. The commencement of this new block has been described by many as a dream come true.

The project represents a new chapter in the journey toward achieving inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all in the Amansie South District.
