Manso Adubia SHS Appeals for Expansion of Overcrowded Dining Hall

The students and management of Manso Adubia Senior High School in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region have made a passionate appeal for the expansion of their dining hall facility to meet the growing population of the school.
According to the students, the existing dining hall is not only too small to accommodate the entire student body but also doubles as a multipurpose space where church services, entertainment activities, and general assemblies are held. They stressed that the facility has become woefully inadequate due to the increasing enrolment in the school, thereby creating discomfort and limiting its effectiveness.
The students, while making the appeal, also called on old students of the school to support their alma mater by contributing resources towards the construction of a new and befitting dining hall that would ease congestion and provide a more conducive environment for meals and gatherings.
Adding his voice to the plea, the Assistant Headmaster of the school, Mr. Peter Acquah, underscored the urgent need for intervention. He explained that the dining hall, which serves as a central hub for students’ daily activities, was built at a time when the school’s population was far less than it is today. With current enrolment figures surpassing the original capacity of the facility, he noted that the situation poses a challenge to both academic and extracurricular activities.
Mr. Acquah therefore appealed to the government, development partners, corporate bodies, and especially the alumni of Manso Adubia Senior High School to come to the aid of the school. He emphasized that investing in the expansion or construction of a new dining hall would not only improve the welfare of students but also boost the overall image of the institution.
The call by the school adds to a growing list of infrastructure needs facing second-cycle institutions across the country, where rising enrolment numbers under the Free SHS policy have put pressure on existing facilities.
For Manso Adubia SHS, the hope is that timely intervention by stakeholders and past students will provide the school with a modern dining facility that can serve the current student population and generations to come.
