Manso Adubia SHS Appeals for Teachers’ Bungalows to Enhance Effective Teaching and Learning
Manso Adubia Senior High School in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region has made a passionate appeal to government, stakeholders, and old students to come to the aid of the school by constructing teachers’ bungalows to improve teaching and learning.

According to the students, the absence of accommodation facilities for teachers has become a major challenge to effective academic work. They explained that most teachers are forced to commute from their various places of residence, which often results in lateness to school and affects the smooth running of lessons.

“Sometimes our teachers come late because they live far away. If we had bungalows here for them, they would stay on campus and have enough time for us,” some of the students lamented.

The students believe that the provision of bungalows on campus would not only motivate teachers but also strengthen discipline, supervision, and the overall academic performance of the school. They also appealed to past students of Manso Adubia SHS to remember their alma mater and support in providing the needed infrastructure to raise the standard of the school.

Adding his voice to the appeal, the Assistant Headmaster of the school, Mr. Peter Acquah, described the issue as urgent and called on government, development partners, and the old students’ association to take swift action. He stressed that accommodation for teachers is an essential requirement for the growth of every second-cycle institution, particularly one like Manso Adubia SHS which continues to see an increase in student enrolment.

Mr. Acquah further noted that while the school community is doing its best to support, the scale of infrastructure needed goes beyond their capacity, hence the need for external intervention.

The appeal comes at a time when many second-cycle institutions across the country are struggling with infrastructural challenges, ranging from inadequate dormitories, dining halls, science laboratories, and sick bays. The call by Manso Adubia SHS reflects the urgent need for holistic investment in education to ensure that both teachers and students are given the right environment to thrive.
