Man, 50, allegedly kills brother over GH¢10

A 50-year-old man has killed his 48-year-old brother after a heated argument at Kuano in the Eastern Region.

The brothers, who are known to be heavy drinkers, reportedly got into a fight over GH¢10 after a drinking spree.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim, identified as Tetteh Kwaku, allegedly accused his elder brother, Moses Tetteh, of stealing his money on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

In his anger, he picked a cutlass and confronted his brother. The confrontation quickly escalated into a physical fight between the siblings.

Their parents, who were present, tried to de-escalate the situation to no avail.

Moses Tetteh, who sustained cutlass wounds in the fight, grabbed a nearby wooden pestle and struck his brother on the neck and jaw till he fell unconscious.

He was then rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Meanwhile, the suspect is on admission at the same hospital, receiving treatment for the cutlass wounds under the watch of the Suhum police.

The police have assured the family that they will continue their investigation and ensure justice.
