First municipal chief executive (MCE) for West Akim in the Eastern region of Ghana, Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye, is highly tipped to become the parliamentary candidate for Lower West Akim constituency on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The deputy managing director (Operations) for the unprecedentedly transformed Intercity STC Coaches Limited has become very popular among the party delegates and most constituents due to his continued support in various forms to the constituency.
Mr. Sintim-Aboagye is noted for championing the transitioning of West Akim district to municipal status within a year of his appointment as the district chief executive (DCE) under John Agyekum Kufuor’s presidency in 2005. Under his leadership, West Akim municipality saw the tarring of major roads, construction and expansion of bridges, extension of electricity, infrastructure for departments and agencies, sports infrastructure, employment opportunities in the Police Service, Prisons Service, Fire Service, Nursing, Midwifery, etc. for many youth, the bringing of Pinora factory to Asamankese, among other social interventions.
His leadership saw the building of the first computer library and a warehouse for the municipality, the building and stocking of the first public library in the municipality, precisely near the circuit court in Asamankese, with the support of some American Liberians, construction of additional residence at the Asamankese chief’s palace, dredging of the Anyinasu river for smooth flow into the Abuchem river to avoid flooding during heavy rainstorms, construction of refuse disposal sites and provision of refuse containers for proper refuse disposal to mitigate the spread of diseases, distribution of electricity poles for electricity extension to over fifty two (52) communities in and outside the municipality, among others.
In 2020 Mr. Sintim-Aboagye installed over seven hundred (700) street bulbs within the municipality towards the Oboadwan Festival.
Since Mr. Sintim-Aboagye’s appointment as deputy managing director for Intercity STC Coaches Limited by President Nana Akufo-Addo, some constituents have been gainfully employed in the transport sector.
Mr. Sintim-Aboagye’s yearly kind and cash donations to windows in the constituency since 2017 have been life-saving to the windows.
His cash and kind support for the party in and out of power and his human relationship skill have been phenomenal that but for just two votes he would have become the parliamentary candidate in his second attempt in 2020. Delegates, have, therefore, resolved to reward Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye with resounding victory in the Saturday, January 27, 2024 parliamentary primary.
The true son of the constituency, as Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye is referred to, is urging delegates that in finding the right candidate in him, they should be peaceful before and during the primary and stay even more united afterwards.
Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye holds Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA, Human Resources Management option) and BSc (Human Resources Management, 1st Class), Certificate in Administration and Management (CAM), Certificate in Capacity Building for Local Government all from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Certificate in Slump Upgrading (Sao Paulo’s Experience in International Policy Dialogue), Certificate in Public Sector Risk Management from the Institute of Risk Management and G. C. E. O’Level Certificate from Kumasi Academy and Middle School Leaving Certificate from the then Armed Forces Elementary School, Uaddara Barracks, Kumasi, following his primary education at Asamankese Presbyterian Primary School.
