KUMASI METROPOLITAN ASSEMBLY HOLDS IT’S THIRD (3RD) ORDINARY MEETING

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), has
held it’s third (3rd) ordinary meeting for the year 2023.

In the welcome address, the Presiding Member Hon Patrick Kwame Frimpong took the opportunity to thank and welcome the Honourable Assembly Members to the meeting. He entreated members to deliberate on issues captured in the agenda devoid of political and personal sentiments.

He used the occasion to offer his profound gratitude and appreciation to all Hon. Members and stakeholders who have given their selfless and invariable assistance to realize the goals of the Kumasi metropolitan Assembly for the year.

Kumasi City Mayor, Hon. Sam Pyne used the opportunity to announced that KMA will highten efforts next year 2024 with regards to revenue collection, sanitation and other environmental issues.

He told the press on Friday, 28th December 2023 that assembly could not generate much IGF this year 2023, saying collection of internally generated funds especially property rate was their biggest challenge.

“We will beef up enforcement of the by-laws of the assembly next year with regards to revenue collection”, he reiterated.

He however indicated that the assembly made some efforts visavis night collection of revenue.

Disclosing on the sidelines of KMA’s 3rd General Meeting, he said 3 arrests of defaulters were made.

He told the press that for the year 2023, KMA directed much efforts at the renovation of schools, donation of academic desks plus other logistics, street lightening and enhancing sanitation through the EU funded HORESD project.

The 3rd General Meeting of KMA was characterised by the award of certificates to members of the assembly.
