The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) had the honour of receiving Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, former Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency, during a working visit earlier today. The meeting was part of ongoing engagements in preparation for AshantiFest2025, a celebration of culture, tourism, and development in the Ashanti Region.
A central focus of discussions was the much-anticipated trip to Lake Bosomtwe, one of Ghana’s most iconic natural wonders. Hon. Dr. Adutwum and ARCC officials explored practical strategies to harness the vast tourism potential of the lake and surrounding communities. With its rich history, ecological uniqueness, and serene environment, Lake Bosomtwe stands out as a key asset in positioning the Ashanti Region as a leading destination for both domestic and international tourists.
The meeting also delved into education-related issues in the Ashanti Region, particularly strategies to improve access, infrastructure, and quality of education in rural and underserved communities. Hon. Dr. Adutwum, known for his strong advocacy for STEM and transformative education policies, emphasized the importance of innovative approaches and collaborative efforts to uplift educational outcomes across the region.
Following his engagement at the ARCC, the Hon. Member visited the victims of the recent Adum PZ fire disaster, offering words of comfort and presenting donations to support affected individuals and businesses. His gesture was warmly received and served as a reminder of the need for both preventive measures and robust response systems to manage emergencies in densely populated commercial zones.
