GES Finally Cancels Basic Schools Semester System; Trimester Is Back.

The Ghana Education Service has finally cancelled the semester system which was supposed to see basic school pupils and students staying at school for 6 months before vacation.
According to them, upon a broader consultation and round table meetings, it has become prudent for them to recall the trimester system. The trimester system was the period whereby the year is broken into three comprising of first term, second term, and third term.

The Ghana Education Service and Ministry of Education released a statement few minutes ago on their official Facebook page.

Teacher unions and educational experts had Criticised the semester system. They labeled it as a way to frustrate basic school children and teachers.

Some argues that, it is not the longevity of the term in semesters which will enhance quality Education but proper modalities for teachers and pupils.
