Parents charged to provide electronic gadgets to their wards towards STEM education

The district chief executive for Amansie south district of Ashanti region Hon Clement Opoku Gyamfi CID has tasked parents in the country to provide electronic gadgets such as laptops,tablets and mobile phones their children to help them subscribe to the government introduced STEM education program.

It racall that, on January 31, 2022, the minister of education,Hon Osei Yaw Adutwum made announced of the opening of six new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) schools this year to improve on science to humanities ratio programme.

The schools are, Abomosu STEM school, Kpasenkpe STEM school, Bosomtwe Girls STEM school,STEM center at Accra Senior High school and TVET school at East Legon.

As part of this efforts putting up by the government,the DCE maintained that, gone are the days where parents prevented their children from getting in touch with electronic gadgets but today it has positive impact on their education towards science and technology.

Hon. Clement Opoku Gyamfi (CID) was speaking to some parents during the 16th career day celebration of Step Academy at Sepe-Aprampram in the Manhyia north constituency in Kumasi.

The program gave the pupils opportunity to displayed their career path in the areas as nurses,Doctors, pilots, millitary officers, police personnel, teachers and prison officers.

The headmaster of the school, Mr Samin Amoah maintained the need for parents to give adequate support to their children education and to allow them choose their own career path today towards brighter future.

Some long serving and dedicated staff received awards from the school management.
