Pupils in all Schools in the Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality have demonstrated against the government in an appeal for Speed Ramps and Traffic Light at Mankessim due to rampant killing by Vehicles.

The Students held placards to show their displeasure about how Vehicles have been Killing them every day as authorities watch without solutions.

They are therefore appealing to the government to provide the speed ramp on the Mankessim to Cape Coast Highway to end the unfortunate incident in their quest to structure their future.

Speaking to the media, some angry Teachers told Soireenews that it is always unfortunate to witness the death of pupils on the Mankessim to Cape Coast Highway.

According to the Teachers, schools in the Mfantseman Municipality are collapsing because Parents are withdrawing their wards for fear of the lack of safety. They hinted that in due of this, the School Population has drastically declined therefore if the Minister of Roads and Highways does nothing to resolve the challenge, it will heavily affect the government in the next polls.

A section of parents also lamented that the rate at which Vehicles collide with wards of the schools outside the Municipality is on the high and it is pleasing to locate them to safe schools until speed samps or Traffic lights are made.

The Assembly Member for New Nkusukum Electoral Area, Hon. Mohammed Ekow Arthur told Soireenews that the situation has been reported to the Municipal Assembly but nothing has been done about it, a circumstance which seems ignored by the authorities.

He has therefore appealed to the government to come to their aid and construct Speed Ramps or Traffic Light on the Mankessim to Cape Coast Highway as a matter of urgency.
