A/R: Fresh shooting in Asawasi leaves one dead, heightens fear among residents

Another individual has been shot and killed by unknown assailants at Asawasi in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region, deepening public fear over a possible wave of targeted attacks.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the junction near the Asawasi Methodist Primary School.
Victim shot at close range after visiting food joint
According to eyewitness accounts, the deceased was entering his Toyota pickup car after patronizing a food joint when two unidentified men on a motorbike appeared and shot him twice before speeding off.
He died instantly, and the motive for the killing remains unclear.

This latest shooting comes just three days after the fatal shooting of the Kusasi Chief, Abdul-Malik Azenbe, also in the community, prompting growing concern among residents and local leaders.
