Final Farewell for King Zuba’s Mother Set for Saturday, May 31

The mother of the Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, affectionately known as King Zuba, will be laid to rest this Saturday, May 31, 2025, in a ceremony expected to draw high-profile mourners from across the country.
Madam Grace Aboagye Yeboah, a respected educationist and a pioneer of the 31st December Women’s Movement, passed away recently after a life devoted to service and empowerment. Her final rites will begin at dawn with a laying-in-state at her private residence in Tafo-Nhyiaeso from 4:00 a.m., followed by a burial service at the All Saints Catholic Church in Santasi.
She will be interred at the Bomso Cemetery, Kumasi.
The funeral will continue in the afternoon with a major gathering at the St. Benedict’s Primary School Park, Tafo-Nhyiaeso, from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. A large turnout is anticipated, including top government officials, traditional rulers, political party executives, and departmental heads, both from Kumasi and beyond.
Executives and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from all levels—national, regional, and local—will also be present to mourn with the Mayor and his family. Security agency representatives and community leaders are expected to participate in paying their last respects to a woman many described as “graceful, firm, and inspiring.”
A thanksgiving service is scheduled for Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church, after which the final funeral rites will be held once again at the St. Benedict’s School Park from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m.
The passing of Madam Grace Aboagye Yeboah marks the end of an era of selfless leadership and quiet strength that touched many lives in Kumasi and beyond.
