Education in Crisis: Manso Dadease Appeals for Urgent Help to Improve School Infrastructure

The residents of Manso Dadease in the Amansie South District are making an urgent appeal for support as they struggle with inadequate educational facilities. The community, lacking essential social amenities, is particularly burdened by limited access to basic education, leaving many children at a disadvantage.

Currently, Manso Dadease has only one two-classroom block, which was constructed through communal efforts. This facility serves pupils from kindergarten to Class 2. Older students, however, must endure long treks to schools in neighboring towns such as Manso Takorase and Manso Nkran, a situation that significantly affects school attendance and academic performance.

During an emergency community meeting to discuss possible solutions, the residents and traditional leaders highlighted their challenges and appealed to the government, corporate institutions, NGOs, and mining companies operating in the area to come to their aid. They also resolved to initiate a self-help project aimed at raising funds for the construction of additional classroom blocks.

Residents Voice Their Concerns

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Unit Committee Chairman, Mr. Frank Appiah, detailed the struggles they faced in putting up the existing classroom block, which remains the only educational facility serving young children in Manso Dadease. “We had to mobilize resources ourselves to put up this two-classroom block, but it is far from enough. The lack of a proper school is forcing many children to walk long distances, leading to high dropout rates. We need urgent help to provide a better future for our children,” he lamented.

Chief of Manso Dadease Calls for Immediate Support

The Chief of Manso Dadease, Nana Kyei Baffour I, also expressed deep concern about the educational crisis in the community. He warned that if the issue is not addressed, it could severely impact the future of children in the area and the overall development of the community. “Education is the foundation of every community’s progress. Unfortunately, our children are being denied this opportunity because of inadequate infrastructure. We are pleading with the government, mining companies, and other institutions to intervene and support us in building more classrooms,” he stated.

The chief further emphasized that with proper support, the community is ready to contribute its quota through communal labor and other available means to ensure that their children have access to quality education.

A Call to Action

The appeal from Manso Dadease adds to the growing concerns about inadequate educational infrastructure in many rural communities within the Amansie South District. With mining companies and other businesses operating in the area, the residents believe that with the right partnerships and investments, their challenges can be resolved.

The community is now looking forward to a swift response from stakeholders to ensure that the dream of providing quality education for their children becomes a reality.
