Dr. Bawumia Poised to Set Unprecedented Political Record, Says Ashanti Regional Minister

Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah, has asserted that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is on track to achieve a political milestone unmatched by any previous leader. Speaking during the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) handing over ceremony to 43 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in Kumasi, Hon. Osei Mensah claimed that Dr. Bawumia will be the first flagbearer in Ghanaian history to lead his party to break the eight-year electoral cycle traditionally followed by the opposition.

Hon. Osei Mensah emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s leadership is poised to make history by winning the general elections, a feat he attributed to the unique achievements of the current NPP government. He expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia’s tenure will mark a significant departure from the conventional electoral patterns observed in Ghana.

The ceremony, held in Kumasi, also featured remarks from Hon. Maurice Jonas Woode, the District Chief Executive of Adansi Akrofuom. Hon. Woode, alongside other MMDAs, commended the government’s road transformation initiative, which is expected to enhance infrastructure and improve the quality of life for citizens within the district and across the country.

Additionally, Nana Yaw Sarkodie Aboagye, Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Jospong Group and Zoomlion, urged all MMDCEs to ensure that the newly provided equipment is utilized solely for its intended purpose. He stressed that proper use of the equipment is crucial for achieving the government’s developmental goals.

The event highlighted the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and set the stage for political discussions leading up to the upcoming elections.
