Atwima Mponua MP, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, Supports 2025 BECE Candidates with 3,200 Mathematical Sets

In a strong show of commitment to education and youth development, the Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, has donated 3,200 mathematical sets to final-year Junior High School (JHS) students preparing for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The presentation ceremony was held across two educational circuits—Adobewura and Nyinahin—and drew a large gathering of education stakeholders, including school heads, teachers, parents, and hundreds of enthusiastic students who received the donation with joy.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Osei Akoto emphasized that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and lack of access to basic learning tools should not hinder any student’s academic journey.

“Education remains one of my top priorities. As your MP, I am committed to removing every barrier that stands in the way of our children’s success. These mathematical sets are just one of many initiatives aimed at promoting academic excellence,” he stated.

He urged the students to study diligently, aim high, and shun all forms of examination malpractice, assuring them of his continuous support through scholarships, improved infrastructure, and teacher motivation.

The District Director of Education, Mrs. Ama Adwubi Asafo Agyei, described the donation as timely and impactful, praising the MP for his unwavering support toward quality education delivery in the district.

“This intervention comes at a crucial time when many families are struggling to provide learning materials for their wards. It will go a long way to boost students’ confidence ahead of the exams,” she noted.

Some of the student beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation for the kind gesture.

“I didn’t have a math set, and I was worried. Now I feel ready and motivated to study harder,” said one student.

“We will not disappoint our MP. We will pass and make Atwima Mponua proud,” another added confidently.

Parents and guardians also expressed their gratitude, highlighting how the donation has eased their financial burden, especially in the current economic climate.

“This is a great relief. We thank Hon. Akoto and pray for more strength and wisdom for him,” one parent said.

Traditional leaders and other residents of the constituency lauded the MP’s consistent investment in education, health, road infrastructure, and job creation. They acknowledged his long-standing commitment to the development of Atwima Mponua, particularly in ensuring that every child has a fair shot at a brighter future.

Hon. Seth Osei Akoto’s latest donation forms part of his broader social intervention agenda, which over the past three years, has positively impacted various sectors of the constituency.

The 2025 BECE is scheduled to begin in July. With this timely support, candidates in Atwima Mponua are now better equipped and highly motivated to excel and secure placements under the government’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) program.
