Apostle Dr. Agyenim Boateng Calls for Severe Punishment for Chiefs Involved in Double Land Sales

The Founder and General Overseer of Divine Miracle Revival Missionary of Ghana, Apostle Dr. Agyenim Boateng, has called on the Government of Ghana to introduce and enforce severe punitive measures against chiefs who sell a single plot of land to multiple individuals, describing the practice as a major driver of conflict and insecurity in many communities.

According to the respected cleric, fraudulent land sales by some traditional authorities have become one of the leading causes of prolonged disputes, costly court litigations and, in extreme cases, violent clashes that undermine peace, social cohesion and local development. He noted that the continuous occurrence of such incidents discourages investment and slows down progress, particularly in rural and peri-urban communities.

Apostle Dr. Agyenim Boateng stressed that any chief found culpable of selling one plot of land to two or more persons must face harsh sanctions without exception. He explained that decisive punishment would serve as a strong deterrent to others who may be tempted to engage in similar unethical and illegal practices, while restoring public confidence in the traditional land administration system.

He made these remarks at Manso Kɛnsere Nkwanta in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region during the church’s 2025 Christmas Convention, which brought together congregants, community members and invited guests from across the district.

The convention also doubled as a special thanksgiving and celebration of the birthday of Apostle Dr. Agyenim Boateng. Members of the church used the occasion to honour their Founder and General Overseer for his years of spiritual leadership, community advocacy and commitment to peace and development, offering prayers and goodwill messages in appreciation of his life and ministry.

Beyond the land issue, Apostle Dr. Agyenim Boateng used the platform to make a passionate appeal to the government to urgently address the deplorable road network in the Amansie South District. He observed that poor road conditions continue to affect economic activities, access to healthcare, education and the general wellbeing of residents, especially during the rainy season.

He therefore urged the appropriate authorities to prioritise the rehabilitation of roads in the district, stressing that improved infrastructure would enhance safety, boost local commerce and significantly improve the quality of life of the people.

The Christmas Convention ended with prayers for peace, good governance and accelerated development for Amansie South District and the nation at large.
