The campaign team of Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has strongly refuted recent media reports alleging that the Minister for Education has declared support for a specific candidate ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming primaries.

In a firm statement issued by Yaw Opoku Mensah, spokesperson for Dr. Adutwum’s campaign, the team described the publication as “mischievous and malicious”, stressing that it was a calculated attempt to mislead the public and sow disunity within the party. The statement clarified that Dr. Adutwum has not, at any point, endorsed any aspirant in the primaries and remains focused on his own vision for the NPP’s future.
“We urge the public to disregard any mischievous and malicious publication that wickedly seeks to suggest a false declaration of support for any candidate in the impending NPP primaries by Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, as circulated on some online portals,” the statement read.
According to the campaign team, their mission remains unchanged — to work with dignity, restore the party’s reputation, and rekindle hope among grassroots members as the NPP prepares for the 2028 general elections. The team assured members that they are committed to fostering unity within the party and positioning it strongly to recapture political power.
They further called on party faithful and the general public to treat the said publications with the contempt they deserve, noting that such falsehoods only serve the agenda of those seeking to create unnecessary divisions within the NPP.
Dr. Adutwum, who is also the Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe Constituency, has been tipped by some political watchers as a potential key figure in shaping the party’s strategy toward the 2028 polls. His camp, however, insists that the focus remains on building a united front, rather than engaging in premature political endorsements.
