GSA’s Jennifer Owusu Afriyie Shines at Ghana CEO & Industrial Awards, Clinches Two Top Honours

Ms. Jennifer Owusu Afriyie, a distinguished Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Officer at the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA), emerged as one of the biggest winners at the just-ended Ghana CEO’s and Industrial Awards held in Accra.

In an event that celebrated excellence and innovation across Ghana’s business and industrial landscape, Ms. Owusu Afriyie stood tall, bagging two of the most coveted awards of the night—Best Female in Planning and Project Management of the Year and Overall Female Legacy Builder of the Year.

The maiden edition of the awards ceremony, organized by Kensvic Communications, was held under the theme “Ghana’s Economic Development and the Future of Young Entrepreneurs.” The event brought together Chief Executive Officers, industry leaders, policymakers, and emerging business figures for a night of celebration and recognition of impactful contributions to national development.

According to Kensvic Communications, the Ghana CEO’s and Industrial Awards aims to recognize individuals and organizations whose dedication, innovation, and leadership have significantly influenced Ghana’s economic growth. The ceremony served as a platform to spotlight outstanding professionals who are leaving lasting legacies in their respective sectors.

Jennifer Owusu Afriyie’s recognition did not come as a surprise to many in professional circles. Beyond her work at the Ghana Standards Authority, she holds several influential positions in key planning and development institutions. She is the Vice Chairperson of the Ghana Institute of Planners – Greater Accra Chapter, a dedicated member of the Ghana Institute of Planning, and also affiliated with Project Management Institute (PMI).

Her international influence is also notable. She is a member of Isocarp – International Society of City and Regional Planners, and the Commonwealth Association of Planners, organizations that foster global collaboration in sustainable urban and regional development.

In addition to her professional roles, Ms. Owusu Afriyie actively contributes to social development through her engagement with the Rotary Club of Ghana, where she serves as Chairperson of Rotary West Africa Registration, demonstrating her commitment to community service and leadership.

Her dual recognition at the awards night underscores not only her professional excellence but also her enduring legacy as a trailblazer for women in planning, project management, and public service in Ghana and beyond.
