Amansie South DCE Hon. Benjamin Marfo Holds Thanksgiving Service to Mark Appointment

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Benjamin Marfo, on Sunday held a thanksgiving service at the Roman Catholic Church in Manso Adubia to express his heartfelt gratitude to God for his appointment to serve the people of the district.

The colourful event, which was heavily attended by family members, friends, political party members, traditional leaders, and media personnel, was marked by songs of praise, prayers, and words of encouragement.

Hon. Marfo, who was appointed by President John Dramani mahama and subsequently confirmed by the Assembly, used the occasion to officially acknowledge the grace and favour of God upon his life. He said his elevation to the high office of DCE was not by his own strength or intellect but through divine intervention.

“I believe God’s hand is in this appointment. It is only right and proper that I return to give Him thanks for this great opportunity to serve the people of Amansie South. I am humbled, and I pledge to lead with integrity, fairness, and commitment to the development of the district,” he stated during the church service.

The officiating priest of the Roman Catholic commended Hon. Marfo for recognizing the role of God in leadership and encouraged him to lead with humility, love, and a sense of justice. He called on the congregation to support the DCE with prayers and constructive suggestions to help him succeed.

As part of the service, special prayers were offered for Hon. Marfo and his administration. The atmosphere was filled with joy as church members and guests joined in singing and dancing to thank God for His blessings.

Also present at the thanksgiving were officials from other Political parties in the Amansie South constituency, youth leaders, members of the District Assembly, and representatives from various religious and community groups.

In a brief interaction with the media after the service, Hon. Benjamin Marfo reaffirmed his commitment to bringing development to all parts of the district. He mentioned roads, education, health, and job creation as key areas of focus during his tenure.

“I am here to serve—not to rule. My doors are open to everyone regardless of political or ethnic background. Together, we can move Amansie South forward,” he assured.

The thanksgiving service ended with a reception at his family residence where well-wishers congratulated him and pledged their continuous support for his administration. The day was seen by many as a new chapter for Amansie South under the leadership of Hon. Marfo.
