Atwima Mponua MP Vows to Continue Uncompleted Police Station Projects Initiated by Former MP

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua Constituency, Hon. Seth Osei Akoto, has pledged to continue all uncompleted developmental projects started by his predecessor, Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, particularly in the area of security infrastructure.

Addressing residents during a community visit, Hon. Osei Akoto highlighted the importance of continuity in development, stressing that the interest of the constituency must always be placed above political differences. He commended the former MP for initiating the construction of police stations in several communities, including Mpasatia, Bayerebon, Tano Odumasi, and Tenpom.

“These projects were initiated in good faith to improve security in our communities. Although they have stalled, I want to assure the people of Atwima Mponua that I am fully committed to seeing them completed. Security is a key concern for all of us, and we cannot take it for granted,” the MP said.

Currently, Atwima Mponua has only three operational police stations serving the entire constituency. Hon. Osei Akoto noted that this situation is far from ideal and puts a strain on the Ghana Police Service’s ability to effectively protect lives and property.

He explained that efforts are underway to review the state of the abandoned police station projects and collaborate with the appropriate government agencies to secure funding and technical support to complete them.

According to him, the construction and completion of these stations will not only bring policing services closer to the people but also create a safer environment for socio-economic activities to thrive. He reiterated that community development should be a continuous effort, regardless of changes in political leadership.

“As a servant of the people, I see it as my responsibility to build on the foundations laid by my predecessor. I am not here to start everything from scratch but to ensure that all good initiatives, whether completed or not, are seen through to the benefit of our constituents,” he added.

The MP further revealed his vision of lobbying for the establishment of a District Police Divisional Command in Atwima Mponua. This, he believes, will strengthen law enforcement operations, enhance coordination among police units, and improve response times to crime-related issues in the area.

Hon. Seth Osei Akoto called on chiefs, assembly members, and residents to support his efforts in developing the constituency. He assured them of transparent and inclusive leadership that prioritizes the collective welfare of all communities within Atwima Mponua.

The announcement has sparked renewed hope among residents, many of whom expressed excitement at the prospect of having improved security services and infrastructure in their localities.
