Driver taken to hospital after tree falls on car in Glenrothes

A driver has been taken to hospital after a tree fell on their car in Glenrothes.

Police were called to Formonthills Road in the Fife town shortly after 10am on Sunday following reports a tree had fallen on a car.

The driver of the vehicle was subsequently taken to hospital to be checked over.

The road was closed following the incident to allow Fife Council to remove the tree.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.15am on Sunday, we received a report of a tree falling on a car on Formonthills Road, Glenrothes.

“Officers attended and the driver went to hospital to be checked over

“The road was closed for the tree to be removed by the council.”
