You Exhibited Your ‘Stupidity’ At Ashaiman — Lawyer Boldly Tells Ghana Armed Forces

A Private Legal Practitioner and Activist has said the Ghana Armed Forces acted in stupidity at Ashaiman after the soldiers went on rampage against innocent civilians.

According to Oliver Barker Vormawor, the military has become emboldened by lack of punishment for their indiscipline in Ejura and Wa to continue to brutalized civilians as a revenge.

“I am willing to provide pro bono legal representation to anybody who was injured, brutalized, or even detained by the Military for their stupidity in Ashaiman” the lawyer wrote.

The soldiers went on rampage after Photos and video of an unidentified soldier was shared on social media allegedly killed in Ashaiman. Some reports said he was attacked and stabbed by a gang. The soldier was reportedly on his way to his family home.

However, today at dawn (March 7, 2023), some soldiers numbering not less than 20 stormed the area. They questioned anyone they came across and reportedly beat them up.

Exhibiting Stupidity

But Convenor of FixTheCountry Oliver Barker Vormawor Esq believes the military lack discipline and are acting unlawfully.

“The Military have no law enforcement powers. They cannot investigate crime that occurs when committed by civilians. Even if it’s against a Military personnel”, he wrote.

He went on:

“The rampant way in which military officials roam our streets and decide to take the law into their own hands must be watched ooo.

I totally condemn the killing of the young military officer in Ashaiman. However, to think that Military persons can just storm communities and brutalize them in revenge under a democracy is a really really dangerous trend oooo.

When we refuse to prosecute them for Ejura and for Wa. We are encourage many more Ashiaman.

I am willing to provide pro bono legal representation to anybody who was injured, brutalized, or even detained by the Military for their stupidity in Ashaiman.

If you know any victim, direct them to my inbox.

We all, lawyers in particular, have a responsibility to ground the rule of law even in the face of institutionalized tyranny.

Shalom.”
