The traditional authorities of Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram plains district of Ashanti region have organized maiden edition of Miss Drobonso Culture and Beauty pageant as a means to sensitize the youth against teenage pregnancy and drug addiction.
Ten contestants were given opportunity to express their knowledge about the custom and culture of Asante kingdom and Drobonso traditional council.
At the end of the competition, Miss Margaret Anane emerged champion and received bountiful package from Nana Dwamena Dankwah Dwebisaw II(Otumfuo Brempong).
Other nine contestants also received bountiful package from the traditional council for their commitment.
The 2023,Home Coming event witnessed a number of Drobonso citizens across the globe with two days live band music and X’mas soccer fiesta sponsored by traditional council of Drobonso.
Speaking to Oyerepa news reporter, Joseph Amoateng after the competition, Nana Dwamena Dankwah Dwebisaw II commended the contestants and urged them to focus on their career in education and job training and stay away from teenage pregnancy and drug addiction which has potential to destroy their future.
In her response, Miss Margaret Anane expressed gratitude to Nana Dwamena Dankwah Dwebisaw II and his sub chiefs for the opportunity given her and her colleagues and pledged to support vulnerable in the community when secure higher position.
