2 Die In Trailer Accident

A DRIVER of Opel taxi cab with registered number BA 348-09, Kwame Baffoe yesterday lost his life when the taxi cab he was driving crashed into a trailer parked on the Wenchi – Wa road at about 8pm without a warning triangle signal.

Three passengers on board the car also sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the Wenchi Methodist Hospital where one was later pronounced dead by medical doctor on duty bringing the death toll to two. The two other victims are currently receiving treatment but one is still in a critical condition, the paper has gathered.

The deceased have been deposited at the same hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Explaining what might have led to the accident; an eyewitness said the cargo trailer, suspected to be from Burkina Faso run out of fuel and was parked on the road without a warning sign while the Opel taxi cab was travelling from Awisa to Wenchi in the night.

The eyewitness said the driver was flashed by another oncoming vehicle and in an attempt to give way bumped into the cargo car killing the driver on the spot.

The three passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the above health facility where one later passed on with one still in critical condition.
