The chiefs and people of Barekese in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region says Akufo-Addo should dismiss their District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon Rebecca Yeboah.
At a news conference at Barekese to register their displeasure, the pressure the concern group alleged gross insubordination against the DCE and declared that, she is unfit to be at her post.
The spokesperson for the Barekese concern citizens, Rev Kwame Afreh Acheampong who addressed the press conference said, the citizens of Barekese has observed that their district chief executive (DCE) Mrs Rebecca Yeboah has hinder agenda per her statements and meeting held by the Assembly.
He made mention that, their DCE wants relocations of certain government offices such as their district police Headquarters relocation of DCE’s residents , Relocation of district hospital, relocation of district Fire station all to Maaban which is not unacceptable.
According to them,
“the DCE intends to deprived Barekese main of it’s political status and infrastructural head offices due her parochial interest and hate for Barekese”.

“The DCE has shown disrespect towards the good people of Barekese particularly the Traditional and stakeholders of the area. Our DCE has also meddling in traditional affairs which is not the purpose president Akuffo Addo brought her to the district”. The group added.
They stressed that , the DCE has woefully failed to deliver to the expectation of the people and has made Akufo-Addo’s government unpopular due to her incompetence.
They want to drawn the attention of the president Akuffo Addo of the malevolent steps and actions perpetrated by miss Rebecca Yeboah to his notice against reappointment of Same as DCE to the district in this second term of his administration.
We the good people of Barekese cannot live or work with this DCE .
However, the Chief of Barekese, Okofo Amoapem Brenya l, said the DCE has on numerous occasions showed disrespect to the traditional authorities and also involved herself in chieftaincy disputes in the area. He said the district had become stunted and retarded in development via an incompetent, visionless, disrespectful, and arrogant political ruler (DCE).
Okofo Amoapem Brenya l, maintained that any extension of the DCE tenure would not only be regrettable but a misfortune on the part of residents.
In this vein, the chiefs have made a clarion call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to sack their underperformed arrogant DCE from office.
