True Faith Church International Edwinase HillTop, located in the Kwadaso municipality of the Ashanti Region, recently extended its hand of compassion and faith to 150 inmates at the Kumasi Central Prison. Led by Odiifo Daniel Agyare, along with Odiifo Benjamin Owusu and Madam Mary Konadu, the outreach was a powerful blend of humanitarian support and spiritual revival, offering both physical nourishment and a renewed sense of hope to those incarcerated.
The church’s outreach involved providing meals to the inmates, alongside a deeply moving worship session, where the team shared prayers, hymns, and words of encouragement. Their goal was to remind the prisoners that despite their circumstances, they are loved, valued, and seen by God. The visit served as an opportunity to offer spiritual guidance and emotional support, instilling a sense of belonging and purpose.
Odiifo Daniel Agyare emphasized the importance of both physical and spiritual nourishment, stating, “While we are here to feed the body, our true mission is to feed the soul. Many of these individuals feel forgotten and abandoned. We want them to understand that God’s love knows no bounds, and they are never too far from His grace.”
The outreach was made possible by the tireless work of Odiifo Benjamin Owusu and Madam Mary Konadu, whose coordination ensured that the visit ran smoothly and that each inmate felt personally attended to. Through their efforts, the team was able to create an atmosphere of care, prayer, and reflection that resonated deeply with the inmates.
During the service, Odiifo Daniel Agyare spoke about the power of redemption and the importance of holding on to faith, no matter the situation. He shared the story of Joseph from the Bible, encouraging the inmates to view their time in prison not as a punishment, but as an opportunity for spiritual growth. He urged them to see their trials as a lesson, with the potential for transformation.
After the sermon, many inmates opened up, sharing their stories and reflecting on their paths to prison. Several of them expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to reflect on their lives and take steps toward spiritual renewal.
Rev. Mrs. Stella Ama Anku Katso, the Ashanti Regional Prisons Chaplain and founder of the Amenuve Outreach Ministry, expressed her appreciation for the outreach and the impact it had on the inmates. “This visit brings a ray of hope to these individuals,” she said. “It reminds them that they are not forgotten and that they are worthy of love and support, which is essential for their emotional and spiritual rehabilitation.”
In a moment of reflection, Rev. Katso also encouraged the church to support a 28-year-old inmate who is facing a 12-year sentence. She urged the church community to help guide him through prayers and offer assistance in furthering his education or acquiring skills that would help him build a better future.
The visit was met with immense gratitude from the inmates, many of whom expressed how much the food, prayers, and encouragement meant to them. Some inmates requested further spiritual guidance to help them stay strong in their faith journey as they served their sentences.
In conclusion, True Faith Church International Edwinase HillTop’s outreach to the Kumasi Central Prison was a profound testament to the power of faith, compassion, and the transformative power of kindness. The event not only provided physical sustenance but also uplifted the spirits of the inmates, reminding them that they are loved by God and encouraging them to continue their personal journeys of redemption and faith.
