A fatal road crash at Ogbojo Junction in Accra late Monday night has claimed the lives of two people and left two others with varying degrees of injuries, sending shockwaves through the local community.

The accident, which occurred at approximately 10:30 PM, involved a head-on collision between two vehicles—one of which reportedly made a sharp and sudden turn into the junction, directly into the path of an oncoming car.

Eyewitnesses described the crash as horrific, with the impact killing two passengers instantly. Emergency services, including officers from the Ghana Police Service and medics from the National Ambulance Service, arrived swiftly at the scene. The two injured victims were immediately rushed to the Legon Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.

Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of the deceased, as efforts are being made to inform their next of kin. Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that speeding and a possible misjudgment during the turn may have contributed to the crash.

The Ogbojo community, visibly shaken by the tragic event, is once again drawing attention to the dangers of the junction. Residents are calling for urgent action from city authorities to enhance road safety in the area, including the installation of better street lighting, traffic signals, and speed control measures.

“This is not the first time a serious accident has occurred here. We’ve raised these concerns before. How many more lives must be lost before action is taken?” lamented a local resident.

Police have cordoned off the area and are continuing investigations to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

More updates will be provided as the situation develops.
