The Ekuona Royal Family of Nsuta has officially announced the passing of legendary highlife musician, Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

In keeping with Ashanti tradition, a delegation led by the Saamanhene visited the Manhyia Palace on Monday, August 4, 2025, to perform the customary rites required to inform the King of the death of a notable royal or distinguished personality. The solemn ceremony marked the commencement of traditional funeral processes for the late icon.

Daddy Lumba, a proud son of Nsuta and a cultural pillar in Ghanaian music, is held in high esteem not only for his artistic achievements but also for his roots in Ashanti heritage. His death has plunged the nation into mourning, especially the Ashanti Region, where his contributions to music and identity have left a lasting legacy.

With the Asantehene now formally informed, the Ekuona Royal Family, in consultation with cultural authorities, is proceeding with traditional and national arrangements to honour the memory of the departed legend.
