Adjamasu Nkosuo Adonteng Hemaa Calls for Unity and Appeals for Police Station, Market, Toilet Facility, and Astroturf to Boost Development

Nana Yaa Pomaah I, the Adonteng Nkosuo Hemaa of Adjamasu in the Bekwai Municipality, has made a passionate appeal to the government and relevant stakeholders to support the development of critical infrastructure in her community. She is calling for the construction of a police station, a modern market, a public toilet facility, and an Astroturf pitch to address key developmental gaps in the area.

Speaking to the media during a football gala organized by the traditional authorities, Nana Yaa Pomaah I emphasized that these facilities are vital for enhancing security, promoting economic activity, improving sanitation, and empowering the youth through sports. The event, aimed at fostering unity and promoting community engagement, brought together residents, opinion leaders, and dignitaries from across the municipality.

“The development of Adjamasu requires collective effort, and we are pleading with government agencies and benevolent individuals to come to our aid. A police station will help us address rising security concerns, a market will boost local commerce, and an Astroturf pitch will nurture the talents of our youth,” the Queen Mother stated.

Also present at the event was the Assembly Member for the Adjamasu Electoral Area, Hon. Owusu Prince Snr, who added his voice to the calls for accelerated development. He appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to speed up the release of the list of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) for the Ashanti Region, noting that the delay is hampering effective governance at the local level.

“The absence of appointed MMDCEs is affecting our ability as Assembly Members to push for development projects. We are unable to effectively advocate for our communities’ needs without clearly defined leadership at the district level,” Hon. Owusu stressed.

Traditional leaders of Adjamasu echoed the Queen Mother’s sentiments, reaffirming the community’s readiness to support development initiatives. They noted that the provision of these facilities will not only transform Adjamasu but also serve as a foundation for broader municipal progress.

The football event, which symbolized unity and hope, concluded with renewed calls for government intervention to address the longstanding infrastructure deficits in Adjamasu.
