Great Osama Supports 2025 BECE Candidates at Kumpese/Akwasiso D/A JHS with GH¢10,000 and Mathematical Sets

The 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates of Kumpese/Akwasiso D/A Junior High School in the Amansie South District have received a major boost as Mr. Kwaku Abonee, widely known as Great Osama, donated mathematical sets and a cash sum of GH¢10,000 to support their examination preparation and logistics.

Mr. Abonee, a respected businessman, philanthropist, and the Chairman of the Amansie South Small Scale Miners Association, made the donation during a short ceremony held at the school. The items were presented as part of his ongoing commitment to promoting education and uplifting young people in the district.

Addressing the media after the donation, Great Osama encouraged the candidates to take their studies seriously and aim high. He urged them to avoid any form of examination malpractice and focus on their books, emphasizing that their future success depends on their performance and commitment.

“I want to see these young ones grow into responsible adults who will become doctors, engineers, teachers, and leaders in society. But this can only happen if they take their education seriously. I’m urging them to study hard, avoid drugs and bad company, and for the girls especially, stay away from early marriage,” he said.

He explained that the GH¢10,000 cash donation is to support the students’ feeding and transportation during the examination period, as they will have to travel to another community to write their BECE due to the absence of a center in their town.

Mr. Abonee also appealed to the current NDC government to come to the aid of the school by completing uncompleted classroom blocks initiated under the previous NPP administration. He said the increasing student population demands immediate intervention in infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning.

Receiving the donation, Madam Lydia Kwakyewaa, the Assistant Headmistress of the school, expressed profound appreciation to Mr. Abonee for his continued support and interest in the wellbeing of students.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for this generous donation. It will ease the burden on parents and give the candidates a better chance at focusing on their exams. We thank Chairman Osama for once again demonstrating his commitment to education in Amansie South,” she said.

Madam Kwakyewaa also made a passionate appeal to philanthropists, NGOs, and other stakeholders to support the school with resources to complete a classroom block, set up a computer lab, and build a perimeter fence to provide security and a better learning atmosphere.

Some of the BECE candidates expressed their excitement and appreciation for the gesture, promising to study hard and make the school and community proud.

Chairman Great Osama’s gesture is yet another demonstration of his dedication to empowering the youth through education, and he continues to be a shining example of community leadership and philanthropy in the Amansie South District.
