MP Shirley Kyei Donates 100 Bags of Cement to Toase SHS for Reconstruction of Burnt Teachers’ Bungalow

The Member of Parliament for Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Kyei, has extended her support to Toase Senior High School by donating 100 bags of cement to aid in the reconstruction of a teachers’ bungalow that was recently destroyed by fire.

The donation, made during a brief but significant ceremony at the school premises, underscores the MP’s commitment to improving education and ensuring the welfare of teachers in her constituency. Hon. Kyei emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment for both teaching and learning, noting that teachers’ welfare plays a critical role in educational success.

She further advised students of Toase SHS to remain focused on their studies and to resist the temptation of engaging in drug abuse and other social vices. “Education is the most powerful tool you have for shaping your future. Stay disciplined, stay focused, and let your dreams guide you,” she stated.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the school, the Headmaster, Mr. Joseph Britwum, expressed profound gratitude to the MP for her timely intervention. He described the donation as a crucial step toward restoring accommodation facilities for teachers, which he said would help improve morale and retention.

Mr. Britwum also used the occasion to call on other stakeholders, including the school’s old students’ association, religious bodies, corporate organizations, and philanthropists, to support the school’s infrastructure development. “While we appreciate this generous support from Hon. Kyei, we still have a long way to go in addressing the infrastructural challenges faced by the school,” he appealed.

The event was attended by members of the school’s management, staff, some students, and community leaders, who commended the MP for her consistent support to education in the district.

The reconstruction of the teachers’ bungalow is expected to begin soon, with hopes that it will be completed in time to provide decent accommodation for the affected teachers.
