Speaker of Parliament Submits Deputy Minister Nominees for Approval

Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, Speaker of the Parliament of Ghana, has submitted the names of four nominees for deputy minister positions to Parliament for prior approval, as per Section 91(1) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.
The nominees are:
– *Ministry of Transport*: Hon. Dorcas Toffey MP
– *Ministry of Foreign Affairs*: Hon. James Gyakye Quayson MP
– *Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation*: Hon. Mohammed Adam Sukparu MP
– *Ministry of Health*: Hon. Grace Ayensu Dankwah MP
According to Rt. Hon. Bagbin, these nominees have distinguished themselves in public service and possess the necessary qualifications, experience, and integrity to support their respective ministers in effectively discharging their duties. Their curriculum vitae and supporting documents have been attached to facilitate the vetting process.
Rt. Hon. Bagbin trusts that Parliament will consider and approve the nominees expeditiously, extending his assurances of highest consideration on behalf of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, has referred the deputy minister nominees to the Appointments Committee for consideration. This process involves *Public Hearings* and a subsequent Report to the House of Parliament.
The Speaker emphasized that the Appointments Committee isn’t compelled to expedite consideration of these nominees since the decision lies wholly with them. They should proceed to do the right thing
