SOS/NBU Project Trainees Undergo Training To Succeed In Their Career Paths

Officials of the No Business as Usual (NBU) Project on the 5th of November 2020 organized another training program dubbed “Career Day 8.0”.

It was held under the theme; “CAREER CHANGE: IS NOW THE RIGHT TIME”, aimed at exposing participating trainees to optimal conditions that decide when to switch jobs and career paths.

It also equipped them with skills of identifying signs that clearly point out that it’s time to change jobs and ways they can push themselves to succeed in their career paths.

The event was held at the hub of the project located within the Asokore Mampong Municipality and witnessed close to 40 motivated youth enrolled on the NBU Youth Entrepreneurship and Employability Programme.

Speakers were Shaibu Fuseini  (Training Coordinator for NBU) and Lucy Asafo Agyei (Student at the Ghana School of Law- Kumasi Campus)

Considering how the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the view of employees regarding job security and career paths leading experts to predict up to 15, the Training Coordinator for the project Shaibu Fuseini noted in an official statement that navigating these challenging times requires new skills in predicting and gauging the optimal times to make career changes and the necessary arrangements required before switching jobs.

Lucy Asafo Agyei on the sidelines of the event touched on some of the signs that prompt an individual to switch jobs.  She indicated some as lack of passion for a particular profession, when ones salary is not able to offer the needed satisfaction, when an individual feels very complacent and suffering of great loss in a career.

She encouraged youth who though are working but has no passion for the profession to start saving towards their passionate job or seek funds to start a career which they believe they are passionate about.
