Quality Education Drive: Hon. Bonsu Equips 5 KG Schools with Digital Tools

In a determined effort to promote quality education and strengthen the foundations of early childhood learning, the Assembly Member for the Takorasi Electoral Area, Hon. Dominic Bonsu, has donated five (5) brand-new 32-inch LED Smart Television sets to kindergarten schools within his jurisdiction.
The donation, valued at several thousands of Ghana Cedis, is aimed at improving teaching and learning outcomes by integrating technology into classrooms. The brief but colourful ceremony brought together school authorities, pupils, parents, and members of the Unit Committee, who joined Hon. Bonsu in handing over the devices to the beneficiary institutions.

The schools that benefited from the intervention are:
1. Takorasi R/C Primary School

5. Green Leaf Educational Complex

Technology at the Heart of Learning
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Dominic Bonsu stressed the need for early integration of digital tools in education, noting that Ghana’s revised curriculum emphasizes the use of modern platforms to aid instruction.
“These smart TVs will help improve the children’s learning skills. With our curriculum focusing more on digital content, especially YouTube, this intervention will help them pick up lessons faster,” he explained.

According to him, the donation reflects his vision of bridging the digital divide in education by ensuring that children in Takorasi have access to the same tools available in better-resourced schools.
Ensuring Sustainability
Hon. Bonsu also called on headteachers of the beneficiary schools to ensure the television sets are used strictly for academic purposes and properly maintained for the long-term benefit of pupils.

“This is not just a donation; it is an investment in our children’s future. I appeal to school authorities to handle the TVs with care so they can serve many generations of learners,” he urged.
Gratitude and Community Impact
The headteachers of the five schools expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Bonsu for his gesture, describing it as a timely intervention that will transform the classroom experience. They assured the Assembly Member and the community that the televisions would be used responsibly to enhance teaching and learning.

One headteacher noted, “Kindergarten learners respond better to visuals and interactive content. These Smart TVs will make lessons more exciting, engaging, and easy to understand.”
