Petra Old Students Pay Last Respects to Their Departed Colleague Ebenezer Kumah After Fatal Motor King Accident

Grief and sorrow engulfed Manso-Mem in the Amansie South District as old students of Petra International School converged to bid a final farewell to their late classmate, Ebenezer Kumah, affectionately known as “Mr. Long Man,” who tragically lost his life in a motor accident.
The heartbreaking incident occurred on the Muano–Domi road when Ebenezer, operating his Motor King tricycle loaded with firewood, was involved in a fatal crash under unclear circumstances. He sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to St. Martin’s Catholic Hospital for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being admitted.
During his final funeral rites, held at the Manso funeral grounds, the 2006 year group of Petra International School came out in full force to honour the memory of their fallen colleague. The emotional ceremony drew large numbers of mourners, including current students, old students, teachers, and community members, all united in grief and solidarity with the bereaved family.
Clad in black and red mourning attire, members of the 2006 class paid glowing tributes to Ebenezer, recalling his cheerful personality, humility, and hardworking nature. Many remembered him as a lively presence in school whose kind heart and friendly spirit left a lasting impression.
In a show of unity and compassion, the group made a cash donation of GH¢800 to the bereaved family to support funeral arrangements and demonstrate their continued love and support.
Speaking on behalf of the group, a class representative noted, “Ebenezer’s passing is a painful blow to all of us. He was more than a classmate—he was a brother. We are here to honour his memory and let the family know they are not alone in this difficult moment.”
The bereaved family expressed profound gratitude to the old students for their thoughtful gesture and the support shown throughout the mourning period.
The death of Ebenezer Kumah has left a deep void in the hearts of his peers and the broader Petra International School community. Yet, his memory will forever remain a cherished part of their shared journey, and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
