Parents Encouraged to Support Children’s Talents to Advance God’s Work — Madam Lydia Okyere Aboagye

Madam Lydia Okyere Aboagye, Sunday School Superintendent of the Methodist Church Ghana, Bohyen Circuit, has called on parents to deliberately nurture and support the talents of their children, emphasizing that these gifts are divine endowments meant to serve God and humanity.

She made the call during the Bohyen Circuit’s first-ever Sunday School Circuit Camp, an initiative aimed at identifying, developing, and celebrating the diverse talents of children within the church.

Addressing parents, teachers, and participants at the event, Madam Aboagye stressed that every child is born with unique abilities that should not be neglected. She noted that when children are allowed to explore their talents in a supportive environment, they become more confident and better prepared to contribute meaningfully to the church and society.

“God has deposited special gifts in every child, and it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to help uncover and nurture these talents. Doing so not only benefits the child but also advances the work of God,” she stated.

Madam Aboagye highlighted the importance of providing children with opportunities to express themselves creatively through music, drama, leadership roles, and other areas of strength. She encouraged parents to pay attention to their children’s interests and passions, offering guidance, mentorship, and resources to help them excel.

Speaking in an interview with Bawah Baidoo, Madam Lydia Okyere Aboagye further advised that both parents and children must work together to honor God through their actions and abilities. She stressed that talents should not be hidden or wasted but should be fully utilized for the glory of God and the upliftment of the church.

The maiden Sunday School Circuit Camp featured a variety of activities, including talent exhibitions, Bible quizzes, leadership training, and team-building exercises. The event not only showcased the vibrant talents of the young participants but also fostered spiritual growth and unity among them.

Church leaders, parents, and children lauded the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. They expressed optimism that such camps would continue to be organized regularly to sustain the momentum of talent development and spiritual empowerment within the Circuit.

In closing, Madam Aboagye thanked the leadership of the Bohyen Circuit, parents, and volunteers for their invaluable contributions to the success of the event. She urged all stakeholders to remain committed to nurturing the next generation of Christian leaders and achievers.
